Many centuries before the Portuguese, the Dutch and the British arrived, Kedah was already a gateway for traders across Asia. As evidenced by recent discoveries of ancient ruins in the Bujang Valley, Kedah is one of the oldest civilisations in Southeast Asia.

  • 102.59 hectares or 253.5 acres - 74.06 hectares of village lairds, 22.66 hectares of rice fields, 3.04 hectares
    of palm areas, 0.41 hectares of ancient royal cemetery, 1.62 hectares of Chinese cemetery and 0.20 hectares
    of Muslim cemetery

  • 127 archaeological sites in Kedah and about 90 ‘candis’ in Bujang Valley
